Aichi Scholarship Program
Overview
1. Outline
(1) Number of Students: Five students(2023)
(2) Period of Scholarship: 2 years and 6 months (6 months as a research student and 2 years as a master's course student)
(3) Citizenship: Applicants must hold citizenship of, and currently reside in outside of Japan: United Nations Member States except for Japan and North Korea, also Vatican City, Kosovo, Cook Islands and Niue.
(4) What We Provide: Living allowance (150,000 yen per month), travel expenses to Japan, school expenses (entrance examination fees, entrance fees and tuition for both research and graduate study)
(5) Place of Study: Graduate school located in Aichi
(6) Application Procedure: Applicants submit materials to a graduate school in Aichi, which then submits its recommendation for the scholarship.
2. Main Terms & Conditions
(1) Citizenship: Applicants must hold citizenship of, and currently reside in outside of Japan.
(2) Age: Applicants must be under 35 years of age as of April 1, 2023.
(3) Field of Study: Applicants must study a subject recognized as pertinent to the support of Aichi's industry.
(4) Japanese Language Ability: Applicants must have a good enough command of the Japanese language to study and seek employment in Aichi, or have the prospect of obtaining sufficient language ability.
(5) Post-Scholarship Employment: Applicants must have the intention to seek employment at a company that has its headquarters or a branch office located within Aichi.
(6) Internships: During their course of study, applicants must participate in internship programs. *Please see the following file for details.

3. Selection Method
4. Schedule
(1) March-May: Applicants apply through graduate schools located in Aichi.
(2) July: The governor selects the scholarship recipients from among applicants recommended by the Aichi Scholarship Program Selection Committee. Selection results are announced to the applicants through the recommending universities.
(3) October-March: Aichi Scholarship students come to Japan and start studying at the recommending universities as research students.
(4) April the following year: Aichi Scholarship students enroll in master's courses.
(5) August-September: Aichi Scholarship students participate in internship programs.
(6) April-September 2 years from enrollment: Aichi Scholarship students apply for jobs at Aichi-related companies.
(7) March: Aichi Scholarship Students complete their studies (and start working at companies starting in April).
